Visit Fernwood, an oasis of beautiful formal and natural gardens**, walking trails, river views, tallgrass prairie and plants. There is also a cafe serving signature chicken salad and more, a marvelous gift shop stocked with unique and hard to find gifts. And for the kids, an outstanding Nature Center with a real bee hive and lots of birds to see! Tuesday - Saturday 10 am-6 pm; Sunday noon-6 pm. Home of the Harper Collection of Dwarf & Rare Conifers, the Michigan Hosta Society Hosta Hillside and a fine Bonsai Collection, Hidden Lake Gardens is a gardener's dream come true. Matthaei Botanical Gardens is 300 combined acres of display gardens, trails, woods, prairie and a glass Conservatory, all of which are open every day of the year for visitors. The Visitor Center is open every day of the week except Mondays from 10:00 am-4:30 pm. With events, programs, classes and activities, the Gardens are a great place to spend the afternoon with friends or family. |

Nichols Arboretum contains 123 combined acres of display gardens, trails, woods and a prairie. The "Arb" is located in the heart of Ann Arbor and is the jewel of the town. It is a favorite for families taking a stroll, outdoor enthusiasts drawn by migrating birds, and college students looking for a place to recreate between classes. The James D. Reader Center is open for visitors Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm.
